It’s time to fight for bill number A00539A! This NYS Bill requires health insurers to provide full coverage for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of Autism. It allows for better insurance coverage of ABA, PT, OT, Speech and other therapies that are critical to the success of our children.

The bill was introduced in January 2007 and referred to the Insurance committee. In February 2007, it was amended and recommitted to the Insurance committee. In January of 2008 it was referred to the Insurance committee yet again. It seems that this bill has stagnated for over a year... until NOW. The Assembly and the Senate have requested a hearing on this bill, which means it has new life.

Now is the time to act while this bill is on the radar! Let’s not let it slip back into committee.
